Reporting accurately

The facts most easily gotten wrong.

Regulatory status
Pathos Vigil is an investigational medical device. It has not been cleared or approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration or any other regulatory authority, and it is not available for sale or clinical use. Please do not describe it as a product hospitals can buy.
Evidence
Pathos Vigil has never run on a patient, and no clinical study is running. No performance figure has been clinically validated, and the site publishes none. The science the approach draws on is published work by others, set out on the evidence page; it is not a study of an Intuitive Pathos product.
Patents
Inventions are held under patent counsel. Nothing on this site states or implies that a patent application is pending or that a patent has issued. Please do not report a patent count, or describe any patent as pending or issued.
Fairness
The per-subject baseline is designed to reduce bias by construction. Per-group accuracy has not been measured, so please do not describe any product as unbiased or proven fair.
Other products
Intuitive-Me (general wellness) and Pathos Guardian (operator readiness) are non-clinical and make no diagnostic or therapeutic claim. Please do not describe either as a medical device or as detecting a health condition.
The founder’s background
The largest share of his bedside years was in inpatient psychiatric nursing, followed by neurology and neuro step-down. He did not work in intensive care. His stroke certification has lapsed, and he is not currently in bedside practice.
Names
Intuitive Pathos (two words; the company is Intuitive Pathos LLC). Pathos Vigil. Intuitive-Me, with a hyphen.

Interviews

What Matthew can speak to.

  • Why a reading can sit inside the normal range and still be wrong for the person in the bed.
  • The difference between statistical deviation and illness, and what it means for fairness in monitoring.
  • Building clinical technology as a nurse, and what bedside practice teaches about instruments.
  • Stating the stage of a health technology honestly while it is still in development.

Interviews stay at the level of what this site already publishes.

Logos

Logos and colors.

The mark is two equal arcs, one above the line and one below. They stand for departures above and below a person’s own baseline, weighted the same. Please keep both colors, do not rotate or restyle the mark, and do not present either arc as the good one. Leave clear space around it of at least half its width.

Use the logos only to refer to Intuitive Pathos in editorial coverage, and not in a way that suggests endorsement by, or a partnership with, the company.
