Product family

One idea, in every setting where a baseline matters.

“Compare this subject to themselves” is not a clinical idea. It is a measurement idea — which is why the same substrate serves an intensive care unit, a veterinary operating room, a flight line and a living room. What changes between products is the setting, the regulatory posture, and what the system is permitted to say.

Status, stated plainly

Every product below is in development. None is available for sale. The clinical system is investigational and has not been cleared or approved by any regulatory authority. We would rather publish that than a roadmap dressed up as a catalog.

Pathos Vigil

Continuous level-of-consciousness and deterioration monitoring for acute and critical care.

Level of consciousness is one of the earliest and most informative signals that a patient is changing — and one of the most unevenly captured. It is assessed intermittently, scored by different people with different thresholds, and documented in a way that makes gradual change genuinely hard to see. The direction that gets missed most reliably is the quiet one: the patient who is becoming less responsive rather than more agitated — a documented pattern, not an assumption; see the disparity case.

Pathos Vigil applies the per-subject baseline and symmetric treatment to that problem, continuously, so that a change is measured against the patient’s own established state and neither direction of change is instrumented better than the other.

This is the regulated product. All clinical decision logic lives here, under its own quality system, and never migrates into the shared substrate.

Regulatory status

Pathos Vigil is investigational. It has not been cleared or approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration or any other regulatory authority, is not available for sale, and is not for clinical use.

Development is conducted against a software lifecycle appropriate to its intended classification, with pre-submission engagement in preparation.

Non-clinical by construction

Intuitive‑Me has no access to the regulated clinical decision logic — not by policy, but because that logic is not in its dependency graph. It cannot emit a clinical conclusion because it has no way to reach one.

  • Consumer
  • General wellness

Intuitive‑Me

Your own physiology, on your own terms.

Consumer health technology has an unusually direct version of the population-average problem. It tells you your sleep is poor, your recovery is low, your readiness is below average — measured against a cohort you did not choose and cannot see. For anyone whose physiology is simply not typical, the result is a device that reports a deficiency every day of their life.

Intuitive‑Me inverts that. It learns what your body does, and tells you when something has changed for you — in either direction, weighted the same, with no ranking against anyone else and no implication that different is worse.

It is a general-wellness product. It does not diagnose, treat, or tell you that you are ill, and it is built so that it could not.

  • Veterinary
  • Non-human

Pathos Vet

Pain and distress monitoring for patients who cannot tell you.

Veterinary medicine has the population-average problem in its most extreme form. A reference range that must stretch across a chihuahua and a mastiff, across species, breeds, ages and working conditions, is barely a reference at all. And the patient cannot self-report, so the asymmetry problem bites hard: an animal in pain that becomes still and withdrawn is easier to miss than one that vocalizes.

Both problems are exactly the ones the framework addresses. A per-subject baseline sidesteps the breed and species range entirely, and symmetric treatment means the quiet animal is not the invisible one.

Veterinary use falls outside human medical-device regulation, which makes this a setting where the framework can be validated and iterated with a shorter loop — without any of it flowing back into the regulated product except as evidence.

Why it matters here

  • No self-report, ever.
  • Reference ranges spanning orders of magnitude in body mass.
  • Chronic pain that is prevalent and routinely unrecognized. See the evidence.
  • Welfare consequences that are hard to detect and hard to reverse.

Non-clinical, and deliberately so

Guardian reports state relative to an operator’s own baseline. It does not diagnose, does not produce a medical record, and does not make employment or fitness determinations. See the capability statement.

  • Defense
  • Public safety
  • Non-clinical

Pathos Guardian

Operator-state monitoring where the consequences of a missed change are measured in lives.

High-consequence work — military operations, aviation, emergency response, industrial control — runs on people whose baseline physiology is anything but average, and often deliberately so. A population reference range is close to meaningless for a selected, trained, conditioned population.

The failure that matters here is also the quiet one. Degradation from fatigue, thermal strain, hypoxia or accumulated load tends to arrive as a flattening rather than a spike, and the operator is frequently the last person to notice it — the same critical-slowing-down signature described on the evidence page.

Guardian measures each operator against their own established state, treats decline and escalation with equal weight, and is designed for deployments where data sovereignty is a hard requirement rather than a preference.

Also in development

Three more settings where the average is the wrong comparison.

Residential

Pathos Home

Aging in place is monitored today almost entirely by emergency — a fall detector, a pull cord, a call after something has already happened. The changes that precede those events are gradual, individual, and perfectly visible against a personal baseline.

Pathos Home is oriented to that gradual change, in a setting where dignity and autonomy matter as much as detection, and where nobody should be told they are declining because they differ from a seventy-year-old average.

Occupational

Pathos Workplace

Physical and cognitive strain in industrial settings, measured against each worker’s own baseline rather than an occupational-average threshold that penalizes anyone whose normal sits outside it.

The design constraint here is trust: a system that can be turned against the people it measures will be, so what the product can emit about an individual is deliberately and structurally limited.

Conservation

Pathos Wildlife

Non-invasive stress and welfare monitoring for conservation and research populations, where handling is itself a stressor and population reference data is often thin, dated, or drawn from captive animals.

Per-subject baselines are especially well suited to field research: they need no reference cohort to exist before the work can start.

Seven products. One question, asked seven times.

What is different for you — asked of a patient, a person, a dog, an operator, a resident, a worker and a wild animal.

Underneath

The parts that are not products.

Three internal components carry the platform. They are not sold and not marketed, but they are the reason the product family can exist without forking into seven versions of the same mathematics.

Substrate

pathos-core

One versioned library holding the equity-by-construction interfaces, the typed primitive wrappers and the federation client contract. No clinical logic, ever.

Mathematics

wu-oracle

The single implementation of the Wu primitives. One home for the closed-form numerics, wrapped everywhere else.

Federation

pathos-central

Aggregation across deployments, on the server side of a boundary that is enforced in types rather than in policy.

Pathos Vigil is investigational and has not been cleared or approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration or any other regulatory authority, and is not available for sale or clinical use. Non-clinical products, including Intuitive‑Me, are general-wellness offerings and make no diagnostic or therapeutic claim.

Not medical advice. Nothing on this website is medical advice, a diagnosis, or a treatment recommendation. If you have a health concern, contact a qualified clinician. In an emergency, call your local emergency number.
